Our foundation.

The pink stuff is the insulation for the conditioned crawlspace. This view is the kitchen and great room. Pipes were also placed under the concrete for plumbing and electrical.
Breakfast area and kitchen.

Our foundation was finally completed in early March. Our original plans did not meet Henrico County's code requirements for the pillars-which meant we had to add some. We also had a conditioned crawlspace added to decrease energy consumption. This can save 25-30% on heating and cooling costs since much of your heat and air is lost in the floor of a home. Our crawlspace was outfitted with a heavy styrofoam insulation and a concrete slab was poured inside the foundation. Very cool.
